To transfer photos to one of these frames, you’ll need to upload your chosen images to the cloud. Instead, most modern frames sync with slideshows stored in the cloud via a Wi-Fi connection. Many contemporary digital photo frames do not feature any physical ports. Most frames with a USB port will have file browsing software, enabling you to scroll through folders and images stored on the flash drive.Īgain, it’s worth confirming which image formats are supported – and you might need to reformat the flash drive before the digital photo frame will recognize it. Images will usually load automatically, though you might have to manually select the drive as a source on certain frames. If you want to send pictures to your digital photo frame from a USB, transferring photos is as simple as plugging the flash drive into a computer and copying over your chosen images, before ejecting it and inserting it into the frame. This allows you to display photos stored on a USB flash drive. Or move snaps from a USB driveĪ number of older and more affordable digital photo frames also feature a USB port. And some older frames can only support memory cards of a certain capacity, so it also pays to confirm this before buying any new memory cards. It’s worth checking which image file formats your photo frame supports before investing time in creating the perfect playlist. These normally accommodate SD cards, which is the most common memory card format. Most older frames feature a memory card slot, as do a number of more affordable modern models, including the Nix Digital Photo Frame 8-inch. Some will also let you select specific folders to display as standalone slideshows. Most digital frames will load the card’s contents automatically, allowing you to navigate images using a file browsing interface. ![]() It’s then just a matter of ejecting the card and sticking it back into the photo frame’s card slot. You’ll be able to drag, drop and delete files on the card using your computer’s file browser, as well as sorting them into folders. ![]()

As with all internet-connected devices, using this feature comes with the risk of getting swept up in a data breach. The best apps also have a map that shows the car’s location, speed, and other details. Wi-Fi and smartphone app: We like an integrated Wi-Fi network because it allows the dash cam to connect to a compatible smartphone app, through which you can view, download, or share video. Most dash-cam makers give you a choice between mount types or sell other mount options separately. Mounts that attach to the windshield with adhesive pads are often more compact and very secure, but they can be difficult to remove for repositioning or swapping between vehicles. Generally we’ve found suction-cup mounts to be the easiest to use. Effective mounting system: We looked for mounts that held the camera securely yet allowed us to aim it easily, as well as to remove it easily.Models without a display-generally not our preference-require you to use a phone or computer to set up the camera and to view video footage. Easy-to-read display: Most dash cams have a display that’s 1½ to 3½ inches diagonal displays that are at least 2 inches make it easier for you to adjust settings on the fly and to preview footage. We also preferred models with buttons we could identify in the dark, as well as intuitive menus and a functional companion app. ![]() Easy-to-use controls: We looked for models with clearly labeled, easily reachable controls (especially the video-lock button).Sufficient field of view: We required each model to have a field of view (FOV) in the range of 140 to 160 degrees-wide enough to take in a multi-lane highway or a large intersection without creating a wide-angle effect that makes cars in front look farther away and details harder to see.To draw power when the car isn’t running, a dash cam usually needs to be hardwired to the car’s fuse box, connected to an external battery, or plugged into the vehicle’s OBD-II diagnostic port. 24-hour parked-car monitoring: We required each model to be capable of recording impacts or movement around your car, any time of day or night, whether you’re in it or not.Night vision: We made night vision a requirement for a dash cam to be considered for testing since car crashes and other incidents you may want to document can occur at any time of day or night (as well as in dark environments such as highway tunnels). We preferred models with 2160p (4K/UHD) or higher resolution, since their footage is often notably sharper than that of 1080p models, and we didn’t consider anything under 1080p. At least 1080p resolution: A dash cam’s video-whether captured in light or dark conditions-has to be sharp and distinct enough that you, a lawyer, your insurance company, or a member of law enforcement can read license plates and see other details clearly. The N4 also lacks built-in GPS tracking, but you can easily add that by buying a GPS mount ($20 at this writing) from Vantrue. But we think most people wouldn’t miss that feature, as it’s still fairly convenient to view footage on the camera itself or with a microSD card reader. Unlike some of our other picks, the N4 lacks app connectivity for you to view and download video remotely. And although it isn’t as well suited for sub-freezing temperatures as our other picks, it is designed to work even in extremely hot climates such as in the American South and Southwest. It has an intuitive menu, and its control buttons are clearly marked and readily accessible. ![]() It’s compact (a little smaller than most point-and-shoot cameras) and relatively unobtrusive on a windshield, and its 3-inch screen is bright and easy to read. In addition to a front-facing camera, it has interior and rear cameras, so it documents your car’s movements (and your surroundings) from three different perspectives. The Vantrue N4 is packed with premium features such as 2160p (4K/UHD) resolution in its main camera, night vision, and 24-hour parked-car monitoring to catch hit-and-run perpetrators, yet it costs half as much as some comparable models. ![]() ![]() While on Earth Voldemort begins his plans for resurrection. To create a room, you must first have built something capable of supporting a room from the oom designation from a piece of furniture.Ī storage room is a space set aside solely to hold items that are not being used (usually with a stockpile). But if somebody of lower status has a nicer room than a noble, that makes the noble unhappy. Once the economy starts, dwarves will have to pay rent for their bedrooms. Married couples will share a bedroom (except for some nobles). Even though you can select to allow or forbid ingedients from outside, that does not seem to do much. The old Civilian alert would force the dwarves to get their asses into the burrow regardless of labor. Unassigned bedrooms will be spontaneously claimed by individual dwarves not already possessing a bedroom. Im trying to build some basic rooms for early-game nobles (manager, broker, etc) and Im having issues layering the rooms. Because normal Burrows only restrict labor, and not general movement. (this is the accepted solution to most things in dwarf fortress). Rooms can also be assigned to specific dwarves (to satisfy a noble's requirements, for instance). The accepted solution is to design these nobles rooms such that they can easily be. It is well possible to define several such rooms in one actual enclosed space they may even overlap, although this comes at a penalty to the room's value. This zone does not need to extend to the walls. Everything covered by that zone is considered part of the room, and will contribute to both the room's value and its effectiveness. The functional room, as the game understands it, is not defined by walls and doors it is a zone extending out from a piece of furniture (in our example, the bed) that defines the room, created when the room is defined from that piece of furniture. A chamber with a bed in it is not yet a bedroom you have to select the bed and define a bedroom from it. ![]() The answer is not as obvious as it seems. ![]() 11/24/2023 0 Comments Diy farmhouse kitchen decor ideas![]() ![]() Which again, is something I have hopes of doing eventually! If I could do it over, I’d move it into a cabinet off to the side or corner of the room, and I’d fill that space with a beautiful custom hood. Number Three | Microwave Incorporated into Upper Cabinetsīeing that I’m going for a vintage farmhouse feel, I’m wishing I wouldn’t have mounted the microwave above the stove. Luckily – walls are easy to paint (easier than cabinets), so that’s something that might happen in the not so distant future! This might not be a big deal if you’re just doing it for your own house, but as someone who loves being able to share quality pictures with you all… it has been frustrating! The problem is that it’s hard to reconcile the white balance without tinting the cabinets yellow or the walls blue! Now technically, this is OK design wise – it doesn’t break any rules.īut what I’ve found is that it’s really tricky to photograph this room well because of the two different tones! Remember what I said earlier about not sharing much about this room? Number Two | Cream Cabinets on White Walls So my two tips about this: Go with the full backsplash, and double check contractor recommendations, especially if they feel a little “off”. It’s about as fun as you would imagine to clean splashed spaghetti sauce off a white painted wall. In a kitchen, it should be about 18″ or the full distance between counter and cabinet!Īlong with looking more finished and professional, I’m also often disappointed with the missing wall protection. I’ve realized now after the fact that the 6″ backsplash like these is really intended more for bathroom counters. So our tile contractor at the time told me that this small 6″ section of granite that runs around the entire counter accounted for the “backsplash”, and I took his word for it. I can make a short list about things I’m really glad we didn’t end up doing – and that would be on top of the list! Here are my top five “would have done it differently” farmhouse kitchen remodel items: I almost did a gold glaze over all the cabinets. My inspiration kitchen had a sort of Tuscany feel, and I ended up matching the granite and cabinets almost exactly. This was pre-pinterest, so my “old school pinterest” was a three-ring binder with cut out pictures from Better Homes and Gardens glued in with my notes. What was trendy in the early 2000’s is different than what I love now! The things you learn, especially after living in a space for a while can really make a difference to decisions you might want to make during a remodel!Īs a general thought, looking back I realize I got a little caught up in the idea of my “dream kitchen”. It’s been said that a good kitchen layout should have your big main appliances in a triangle – and my stove, sink and fridge do make a triangle through the main part of the room! Noticing Things I’d do differently: I also love the final layout of the kitchen. ![]()
11/24/2023 0 Comments Bleeding edge endo sym armor![]() ![]() No, I'm saying the Bleeding-Edge armor and technology he used was so unique and powerful that any standard Iron Man armor will never be on par with that one again unless he uses that same liquid metal Extremis based nanotechnology again. That's flat out delusional logic and makes no sense. Regardless you're arguing his suits get weaker over time, that he cant build suits better than bleeding edge or even on par with it, even with 11 years prep, and that he can't even recreate that suit itself. Get your facts (that you overheard me say) right. No, he said his endo-sym was his most advanced. With model prime he mentioned its the best most advanced. You are trying to get me to double back about that by saying, "HErR DeRr He CaN'T dO aNyThNg BeTtTEr?! LOHL It BEeN 10 YeErS!" Not only has it not actually been 10 years, since time in Marvel comics isn't the same as real life (Tony Stark was in his 30s when his first comic came out in the 1960s), but it's really not a big deal for him to hit his BEST armor from 10 years ago and then make slightly worse ones as time goes on. Second of all, so what if he peaked after building the Bleeding-Edge armor? Why is that a bad thing? You act like it makes him dumber for creating technology so fantastic that it's still used 1,000 years in the future and Kang lusts after it. the hypocrisy of someone claiming ironman suits get weaker over time for 11 years straight using that line.įirst of all, you are putting words in my mouth that I never actually said. Lmao at bringing up "absurd and delusional biases". Based on what you've stated it sounds like he can't recreate bleeding edge. Why would he even bother building supposedly weak suits for 11 years straight. ![]() Obviously if his newer suits are weaker and less advanced despite prep time and investments put into them thatd mean, according to you Starks flat out incapable of creating a suit better than or equal to bleeding edge and recreating that bleeding edge itself. You should be the one posting scans about it "flat out" being "stated as being more powerful", but as usual your ridiculous, baseless, and meaningless claims have no actual evidence or scans to back up your biased and faulty opinions.Īnyway bleeding edge came out what 11 years ago? So you're claiming in 11 years and billions of dollars he cant build a suit better than bleeding edge, and that he can't build a suit on par with bleeding edge, AND that he can't even recreate the bleeding edge armor itself again due to losing the tech or knowledge for it. But it's funny that you have ANYTHING to say about lowballing.ĭidnt the black gold armor weaponize a city and was flat out stated as being more powerful? Do you have scans. When has he tried to surpass Bleeding-Edge? As long as he's admittedly not using the same nanotechnology and Extremis tech, it's going to be worse. According to you, despite having over 10 years prep time and investing billions of dollars ironman cant ever build a suit more advanced than bleeding edge. That doesn't mean it automatically has the same standard armor stats or technology.īut okay lets go with your ridiculous lowballing. The model prime was stated that it had a way to merge all different "armor modes" (like Hulk-Buster, deep sea, stealth, space, etc.) into one. Where was this stated? What you are going to do next is mask your embarrassing lack of knowledge with more and more walls of text further proving how much extra time you have on your hands. Model prime was stated to be his most powerful most advanced suit. His symbiote armor did not have any nanotechnology and it only received good feats when he added inordinate amounts of extra symbiote to increase its stats. He didn't have any Extremis tech in his Black and Gold or Model Prime. That's called a strawman, my addicted little friend. Especially not compared to his classic ones. Nobody is saying that his suits don't advance over time. ![]() Okay so his suits dont advance over time? That means his classic armors are stronger and more durable than his newer ones. If you actually picked up a comic book, you would know that. Ever hear of Iron Lad? That armor was literally Stark tech from 1,000 years in the future. It was admitted by Kang BEFORE Iron Man built the armor. When was the bleeding edge being used 1k years in the future mentioned? If it happened while he was wearing the armor its irrelevant. ![]() 11/24/2023 0 Comments Giphy capture change cover photo![]() ![]() The image below was exported at 100% quality. Let’s take a slice of a flower photo and export it out at six different quality settings. If you are posting a flower photo just to celebrate the arrival of spring, then a much lower quality would probably be fine. ![]() If you are posting a flower photo to a botanical encyclopedia website, you probably want it to be fairly high quality so small distinguishing details can be clearly seen. Always keep in mind what the purpose of the graphic is. When you hit a quality level that is unsatisfactory, then back up to the lowest level that was still good enough for your purposes. If the reduced level looks good enough, then try another reduction. One strategy for selecting the best level is to start with a fairly high quality setting and if it looks OK, try reducing the quality a bit. You should always select the lowest quality that is still suitable for your purpose. Or you might be asked to select a percentage from 0% (lowest quality) to 100% (highest quality). You might be given a number range, for example 0 (lowest quality) to 12 (highest quality). You might just see a few choices like: low, medium, high, or maximum. When you export to JPG from an image editing program, you’ll be prompted to select the quality level you want. It’s easiest to compress a JPG (also called JPEG) because there’s just one thing to consider: quality. For information about compressing PNGs or GIFs, please scroll down this page. We’ll take a look at how to get the best compression in each of the three file types starting with JPEGs. If you have a simple graphic with few colors and solid areas, then your best choice will be a GIF or PNG-8. If a similar photo needs to have lossless compression or transparent areas, then a PNG-24 will be required. If your image is a photo with lots of colors or an illustration with gradations and you want to squeeze the file size down, JPEG will probably be your best choice. The more compression, the smaller the file will be and the faster it will load on a webpage.īut first, you’ll need to decide which of the three file formats you want to use.
